Man charged for allegedly stealing $14M in furniture from downtown Kingston warehouse
A Kingston 6 man has been charged by the police for allegedly breaking into a warehouse along Water Lane in downtown Kingston and stealing several pieces of furniture valued at $14 million.
He is 48-year-old barber Marlon Walker, who has been charged with warehouse breaking and larceny.
A date is to be set for Walker to appear in court.
Reports from the Kingston Central police are that between Saturday, October 25 and Thursday, October 30, the complainant securely locked his warehouse and left.
Upon his return, he reportedly observed that the locks had been cut and several items were missing.
The police were alerted, and further inspection revealed that pieces of furniture amounting to $14,000,000 had been stolen from the warehouse.
During a review of surveillance footage, Walker was allegedly seen removing the items.
He was arrested on Friday, December 5, during a police operation along Princess Street in Kingston.
He was charged following a question-and-answer session conducted in the presence of his attorney.
