His court date is being finalised.

After more than 14 years on the run, a 41-year-old labourer from Middle Quarters, St Elizabeth, has been charged in connection with a deadly 2011 gun attack that left two young men dead and a woman injured.

Andre Daniels has been charged with two counts of murder, wounding with intent, illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, and assault at common law.

Those killed were Andrew Grey, 24, and Dave Davis, 19, both residents of Middle Quarters.

The incident occurred about 8:00 p.m. on June 9, 2011, along Jarrett Lane in the community.

According to the police, a female occupant of the dwelling where the attack took place also sustained injuries during the incident.

Daniels managed to evade law enforcement authorities for more than a decade but was apprehended during a targeted operation conducted by the Manchester Police on December 16, 2025.

He has since been charged.

Head of the St Elizabeth Police Division, Superintendent Coleridge Minto, commended investigators for their persistence in bringing the long-running case to a close.

“I want to commend the members of the St Elizabeth Criminal Investigation Branch for their diligent work on this investigation that has now led to charges being laid,” Minto said.

He also praised the Manchester Division for its role in the arrest, noting their “coordinated operational efforts in apprehending this individual.”

Minto used the development to issue a stern warning to criminals who believe time can shield them from justice.

“Persons who engage in criminal activities must understand that there is no statute of limitations on crime,” he said.

“No matter how much time has passed, offenders will be held accountable for their actions.”

He added that the police remain committed to pursuing unresolved cases and ensuring justice for victims and their families.

The arrest brings renewed attention to one of Middle Quarters’ most tragic crimes, which claimed the lives of two young men and left emotional scars in the community.

Police say investigations into cold cases remain ongoing as they continue efforts to track down persons who believe they have escaped the reach of the law.
