NWC says piped water restored to remaining sections of Rose Heights, St James

The National Water Commission (NWC) is reporting that piped water supply has now been successfully restored to the remaining sections of Rose Heights in Montego Bay, St James, following remedial work on valves along its network.
The NWC says that over the past two weeks, its technical teams have worked tirelessly to restore supply to the entire Rose Heights community.
However, follow-up field checks and customer feedback indicated that residents along two to three roadways were still experiencing no-water challenges, even after the wider area was restored.
These locations, according to the commission, were targeted over the past 48 hours and supply was successfully restored on Monday, December 29.
The commission says it understands the frustration experienced by affected residents but notes that blockages, air locking, and displaced pipe infrastructure (pipes and valves) are typical occurrences following a hurricane.
These situations, it says, have been observed across several networks but are particularly pronounced in the hardest-hit parishes.
The NWC says it will continue making operational adjustments to address any remaining challenges and will implement a published supply schedule to guide residents on planned supply times.
