Thieves broke into the Greenwood Baptist Church in Trelawny on Tuesday night.
Pastor Reverend Wayne Smith told The Gleaner that the church was ransacked and several items were stolen.
“The thieves gained entry through a boarded-up window. They ransacked the building and made off with a keyboard, a refrigerator, a stove, four speaker boxes, a computer, and three television monitors,” he said.
The 20-year-old church, which sits on the border of St James and Trelawny, had lost its roof during the passage of Hurricane Melissa last October.
The Trelawny police have launched a search for the perpetrators.
