Manchester man who was in custody since 2024 freed after judge upholds no-case submission
A 30-year-old Manchester man who was accused of breaking into an establishment and stealing items in 2024 was on Friday freed in the parish court after the judge upheld a no-case submission.
Garnet Graham was answering charges of shop breaking and larceny.
At the trial, his lawyers, Rodain Richardson and Justyn Reid, argued that there were inconsistencies in the prosecution’s case and that it failed to present sufficient evidence.
The court upheld the no-case submission and freed Graham.
It was alleged that on October 28, 2024, a business establishment was broken into and items were stolen.
A report was made to the police, and an investigation was launched.
It was further alleged that camera footage showed Graham near the business premises.
He was arrested and subsequently charged with shop breaking and larceny following a question-and-answer session.
Graham had been in custody from the time of his arrest until he was freed on Friday.
