Man fatally shot in alleged confrontation with police in Portmore

A man was fatally shot during an alleged confrontation with police in Portmore, St Catherine on Wednesday.
He has not yet been identified.
The incident is being probed by the Independent Commission of Investigations.
The police reported that about 6:40 p.m., officers were conducting an operation along Port Henderson Road, in the vicinity of Marine Park, when the man confronted the team.
According to police, the cops took defensive action, and the man was shot and injured.
He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
