SAJ welcomes new member CFL Shipping Jamaica
Consolidated Freight Line (CFL) Shipping Agencies Limited and CFL Shipping Montego Bay Limited have been welcomed as the newest members of the Shipping Association of Jamaica (SAJ).
CFL Holdings Inc’s Director of Jamaican Operations William Brown heads a team of shipping industry professionals led by Stacia Nosworthy Cunningham, general manager, operating from the Kingston office, and Michelle Hutchinson, sales and marketing manager, heading the Montego Bay office.
The Kingston office is located at the SAJ building in Newport West, while the CFL Montego Bay office is located at the Freeport Shopping Centre.
CFL is a full container load, project and RO/RO cargo neutral logistics service provider headquartered in Miami, Florida, operating regionally and globally. CFL offers full logistics and project cargo expertise through its global contracts with liners and specialised carriers.
Additionally, CFL Shipping is the CMA-CGM agent in Montego Bay, covering all commercial as well as vessel operations.
CFL began services in March 2019 with its inaugural sailing from Miami to Kingston and has grown rapidly since then. Jamaica is a key market in the Caribbean. Today, CFL moves cargo between Jamaica, the US, Canada, China, Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, Central America, South America and South Africa, among others.
Control of all aspects of the supply chain, from booking, trucking, tracking and tracing shipments, cargo protection insurance and container control management, allows CFL to keep clients informed about their shipments in a timely manner.
CFL boasts a network of 38 offices and agents throughout the world that focuses on logistic solutions and the development of cargo opportunities. This network offers hundreds of connections that can benefit the Jamaica trade.
The CFL website, www.ShipCFL.com, gives clients an opportunity to review the services offered by the company.
“Our dedicated team continues to be a formidable force in the world of NVOCCs (non-vessel-owning common carrier), shipping and logistics” said Nosworthy Cunningham. “Our level of attention to our customers’ needs drives the level of service we offer to the trade.”
“We are very proud of our Jamaican team and all that they have accomplished in the last 18 months. We have seen growth, but more importantly, we have seen the reconnecting of long-standing relationships with the clients in Jamaica, who have been looking for personalised service and quick 24/7 response time,” said David Ross, CEO of CFL Agencies USA, the company’s managing agency.
These long-standing relationships Ross refers to can be traced to over the past two decades of service provided by SeaFreight Line, where Ross and many of the CFL Jamaica team operated previously.
“We have a culture of service. It’s natural to us. We’ve been around for a while. We understand the clients’ expectations and are confident in our abilities to meet them,” said Gino Valencia, corporate director of business development, who is based in Miami.
“‘The People You Know. The People You Trust’ is not just our motto, it is the credo we live by,” said Hutchinson. “Our word is everything.”
