STGC, Charlie Smith get off to winning start in Manning Cup

Charlie Smith High defeated Donald Quarrie High 5-0 in their opening Group B match of the ISSA Manning Cup at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex on Monday.

Tahj Reid scored a brace in the win, with Michael Bryan, captain Gianni Golding and substitute Damar Brown getting on the scoresheet.

Charlie Smith dominated the game from the start with 17 shots with 9 on target. Donald Quarrie had 10 shots with 4 on target.

Donald Quarrie were reduced to 10 men with 10 minutes left to play when Tavaine Butler was given a straight red.

Also on Monday, many time champions St George's College got their campaign off to a winning start with a 2-0 win over Eltham at Winchester Park.
