Government allows 5,000 spectators for National Trials
Spectators will be allowed to attend the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA)/Supreme Ventures National Junior and Senior Championships (Trials) which start at the National Stadium tomorrow.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness has given permission to the JAAA to allow 5,000 spectators to attend the Trials, which will be from June 24-27. This will be the first time the spectators will be allowed at the National Stadium, or at any major local sporting event, in more than a year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The four-day event will be used to select Jamaica’s team to the World Athletics Under-20 Championships in Nairobi, Kenya, and Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan this summer.
