Cavalier's Kamoy Simpson (left), Melvin Doxilly, and Dunbeholden's Rondee Smith (on ground) in a tussle during their Jamaica Premier League game at Stadium East on Sunday.

Dunbeholden defender Andre Dyce netted the game's only goal in the fifth minute to give new coach Harold Thomas his first win and to give the St Catherine club its first in three Jamaica Premier League matches.

Dunbeholden lost their first two matches of the season and had replaced Curtis Hamilton with Harold Thomas coming into Sunday's match.

The former Harbour View and Rivoli coach continued Dunbeholden's good run against the in-form Cavalier, who was tasting defeat for the first time in three games this season.

The big defender, Dyce, fired the underdogs into an early lead, when he was left unmarked and he stabbed home at the back post from a Rondee Smith corner.

Cavalier came storming back and 17 minutes into the game, Colin Anderson set up Courtney Allen but his effort from five yards out was deflected for a corner.

Bryan English should have equalised for Cavalier but he lifted Jamar Purcell's cross over from six yards.

Then in first half added time, Mark Miller's curling free kick had to be parried for a corner by Jeadine White.

Cavalier came out in the second half and pushed their opponents back early on but found breaking down the St Catherine team difficult.

Their best effort came from Dwayne Atkinson from a free kick in the 81st minute.

The other good opportunity they had fell to Kyle Ming moments later but he flashed a header wide from a corner after he was left unmarked at the far post.
