#TokyoGoldRush | Thompson Herah defends 100m title as Jamaica takes the sweep
Elaine Thompson Herah has defended her Olympic title with a record run in the Women's 100m final in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday.
Thompson Herah clocked an Olympic record of 10.61 seconds, the second fastest time in history, eclipsing the 10.63s ran by Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce earlier this year.
Speaking of Fraser-Pryce, she finished second in 10.74 seconds, as Shericka Jackson closed out the Jamaican sweep in a personal best 10.76 seconds.
All three women will now turn their focus to the 200m event.
