Antonio named in 35-man Reggae Boyz World Cup squad
West Ham United's Michail Antonio has been named in Jamaica's final 35-man final roster for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mexico, Panama and Costa Rica starting on Thursday
Sixteen of those players are based in England.
The Jamaica Football Federation said on Monday that it expanded the pool of players to have adequate personnel for all three encounters. This stems from English Premier League (EPL) clubs previously not releasing their players for matches in countries on the United Kingdom's red list, with no quarantine exemption in place. However today, EPL clubs have released certain players for such games.
The release stated that some players will be used for the two away games against Mexico this Thursday and Costa Rica on September 8 while some will only be available for the Panama game at the National Stadium in Kingston on Sunday.
Some players are scheduled to fly directly to Mexico while the rest will depart on a charter flight out of Kingston with the technical and administrative staff at 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
