Concacaf U-20 Women's Championship | Young Reggae Girlz blank Cuba
Jamaica defeated Cuba 3-0 in their second Group H game at the Concacaf Under 20 Women's Championship in the Dominican Republic on Monday.
Kameron Simmonds scored a brace in the 34th and 49th minutes and second-half substitute Christina Salmon added one in the 81st as they got a much-needed win in their quest to reach the knockout phase of the tournament, after losing 1-0 to Guatemala last Saturday.
The young Reggae Girlz suffered an injury blow as captain Peyton McNamara was ruled out for the tournament after suffering an injury.
Jamaica are now on three points, and will close group play against Haiti on Wednesday. The top three teams will qualify for the knockout round. The tournament is being used as a qualifier for the 2022 FIFA Under 20 World Cup to be held next August in Costa Rica.
