World U-20 | Lawrence mines another silver for Ja in men’s shot put
Kobe Lawrence delivered Jamaica’s second silver on day two of the World Under-20 Championships at the Pascual Guerrero Olympic Stadium in Cali, Colombia on Tuesday as he threw a personal best to finish the men’s shot put behind Tarik O’Hagan of the United States.
It was the third medal for Jamaica on Tuesday, as Bouwahjgie Nkrumie had also mined silver in the men’s 100 metres with the island’s mixed relay team, capturing bronze earlier.
In the shot put, Lawrence threw 20.58 metres on his fifth and penultimate throw to move into second. O’Hagan got the winning distance and his personal best of 20.73 metres on his fourth attempt with Germany’s Tizian Noah Lauria getting the bronze with 20.55 on his sixth and final try.
