World U-20 | Pottinger mines Jamaica's third gold in men's high jump
Brandon Pottinger mined Jamaica's third gold medal at the World Under-20 Championships as he won the men's high jump at the Pascual Guerrero Olympic Stadium in Cali, Colombia on Friday.
Pottinger leapt 2.14 metres to separate himself from his rivals as South Africa's Brian Raats and Bulgaria's Bozhidar Saraboyukov tied for the silver with 2.10 metres.
Saraboyukov and Raats led the event until the winning height, where both failed their three attempts as Pottinger cleared on his second effort.
The gold medal for Jamaica followed Tina Clayton's victory in the women's 100 metres and Brianna Lyston's win in the women's 200 metres earlier on Friday.
It brings Jamaica's medal tally to nine, with three gold, three silver and three bronze. Jamaica sit behind the United States of America on the medal table with the latter having five gold, three silver and three bronze.
