PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania, USA:

Jamaica College (JC) bounced back in style from their disappointments in the 4x400 metres and 4x800 metres relay yesterday to win the high school boys’ Championship of America 4x100 metres relay today at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America.

Running in cold and rainy conditions, the quartet of Daniel Beckford, Hector Benjamin, Jaiden Reid and an impressive anchor leg from Malique Smith-Band, stopped the clock at 40.97 seconds for the win.

St. Elizabeth Technical were second in 41.19 seconds, Camperdown fourth in 41.34, Kingston College fifth in 41.39, and Wolmer’s Boys’ School sixth in 41.71. St Jago High failed to finish.

Meanwhile, Excelsior were victorious in the Boys’ International 4x100 metres relay final after clocking a record 41.04 seconds. Calabar, with 41.12 and Herbert Morrison Technical, with 41.87 seconds, ended second and third, respectively.

Edwin Allen were sixth in 42.73 seconds, William Knibb seventh in 43.48, and Wolmer’s eighth in 42.48 seconds as St Georges College failed to finish.
