#PennRelays2023 | Hydel lead four Jamaican schools into 4x100m final
PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania, USA:
Hydel High’s quartet of Alana Reid, Oneika McAnnuf, Shemonique Hazle and Aaliyah Baker sent a strong message to their rivals in the high school girls’ 4x100 metres Championships of America relay at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America today.
They stopped the preliminary-round clock at 44.96 seconds to be the fastest qualifier going into tomorrow's final.
Three other Jamaican teams also progressed to the final, led by defending champions Edwin Allen with 46.64 seconds, the third fastest qualifier. St. Jago High, with 46.80 seconds and Wolmer's Girls' School, with 47.35, will join Hydel and Edwin in the final.
Meanwhile, seven Jamaican teams will be in the high school international final. They are Holy Childhood, Mt Alvernia, Excelsior, St. Catherine, Holmwood, St. Mary High and Manchester High.
