GAINESVILLE, Florida, CMC – Consider Adaejah Hodge a problem after the Georgia freshman from the British Virgin Islands delivered a seismic statement at the Tom Jones Memorial on Saturday, obliterating the competition and scorching the Percy Beard Track with a jaw-dropping 10.77 seconds in the women’s 100-metre dash.
The time of 10.77s does more than just win a meet. It is a world lead. It is a National record for the British Virgin Islands. And it now stands as the No. 2 all-time performance in NCAA history.
Hodge, wearing the red and black of the Lady Bulldogs, was just 0.02 seconds shy of matching Sha’Carri Richardson’s collegiate record of 10.75s, set in 2019.
The 19-year-old exploded from the blocks and never relented, leaving a world-class field in her wake. Florida State’s Shenese Walker of Jamaica dipped for second with a phenomenal 10.80s, a time that would win most meets by a landslide.
South Carolina’s Alexis Brown (USA) rounded out the podium in 11.04s.
