Jamaica lands three podium finishes at 2026 World Athletics Continental Tour in Rovereto

Jamaica secured three podium finishes at the 2026 World Athletics Continental Tour Silver meeting in Rovereto, Italy, on Tuesday.

They were led by Olympic bronze medallist Rajindra Campbell's Shot Put win, Romaine Beckford's runner-up finish in the High Jump, and Sabrina Dockery's third-place run in the women's 100m.

Campbell, the national record holder, continued his dominant 2026 season with a winning throw of 22.17m; ahead of American Payton Otterdahl, who threw 21.81m for second; and Italy's Zane Sean Weir, who took third with 21.17m.

The victory adds another title to an impressive campaign for Campbell, who became the first Jamaican to surpass the 23-metre mark while claiming the Diamond Trophy on the weekend.

In the men's High Jump, Commonwealth Games champion Beckford shared second place, clearing 2.22m alongside Japan's Tomohiro Shinno. The event was won by host Manuel Lando of Italy with a season-best 2.25m, while another Jamaican, Raymond Richards, finished sixth with a clearance of 2.16m.

In the women's 100m final, Dockery clocked 11.25 seconds to place third behind American Gabby Thomas, who won in 11.02 seconds. Former Jamaican Christania Williams, now representing Austria, placed second in 11.18 seconds.

Sprinter Kadrian Goldson was Jamaica's top finisher in the men's equivalent, crossing the line in 10.12 seconds for fourth place. South Africa's Bayanda Walaza won in a meet record of 9.91 seconds.

In the men's 400m, Grenada's former world and Olympic champion Kirani James clocked 45.11 seconds for third behind Canada's Cristo Morales Williams, who won in 44.64 seconds, and Belgium's Daniel Segers, who took second in 45.04 seconds.
