The Miss Jamaica World grand coronation show, held at The Jamaica Pegasus on Saturday, August 21, was a breath of fresh air and elegance.

The ballroom of the hotel was beautifully laid out and featured a raised stage with a water feature surrounded by lush vegetation and decorative lights. Each guest was seated in clear view of the stage and had a chance to enjoy a drink before settling down to watch the show.

Guests showed off some of the latest fashion trends while hosts, former Miss Jamaica World, Sara Lawrence, and radio personality Paula-Anne Porter-Jones looked elegant and sparkling. The judges, too, were not to be outdone, as they sported fashionable dresses and suits.

This year's contestants were both beautifully polished and displayed a high level of intelligence. When they made their first entrance on the stage wearing green and gold swimwear, the crowd cheered their opening routine. Stella Maris Dance Troupe gave an energetic performance. Also entertaining were I-Octane, Cherine Anderson and Wasp.

Contestants wore evening gowns, courtesy of Bling Bling, and the selections were beautiful. The crowd had its favourites but in the end it was Chantal Raymond whose dream was made a reality. She was crowned Miss Jamaica World and will represent Jamaica in the Miss World 2010 competition in Sanya, China, in October.
