The showdown between form team Mico University and defending champions Jamalco takes the spotlight as a feast of quality netball is expected today when the curtain comes down on the Clarendon Senior and and Junior leagues.

Competition starts today at noon and will be hosted at the home of its sponsors, Juici Patties, at its sports complex located at Clarendon Park.

The day's proceedings begin with the Junior third-place play-off between Toll gate and Glenmuir, followed by that league's final between guest team - Ricam of Mandeville and Longsville.

Ricam booked their place with a 29-20 victory over Toll Gate while Longsville, who finished with the best preliminary-round record, easily got the better of Glenmuir 31-17. While the junior league should generate some excitement, especially as it's a final, where both teams are meeting for the first time, it's the seniors that will get almost all the attention.

Their challenge gets under way with the third-place play-off between Holmwood Technical A and Windalco. Windalco have the edge, having won their preliminary-round meeting. Both will have to play second fiddle to the final showdown between Mico University and Jamalco.

Mico, who topped the preliminary round on consistent performances by captain Shauna Carradice, earned bragging rights after topping Jamalco 49-47 two weeks ago. However, with national player Romelda Aiken available to team up with ace goalshooter Elaine Davis, the tables could turn.
