Worship en vogue!
A fusion of sheer elegance and worship was the scene at the launch banquet event dubbed 'Banquet of Wines' on April 23, at the Knutsford Court hotel in New Kingston. You could be dead wrong to think that a union of church and elegance is politically incorrect, as the evening was nothing short of 'stateliness'.
Of course, it was the dual launch of Encounter Ministries International (EMI), which is a ministry mobilised around a special niche of at-risk individuals who have become broken-hearted or are struggling with hopelessness, as well as the newest book by Janet Allen, titled The Banquet of Wines. Visionaries Munroe and Janet Allen hosted in an atmosphere of elegance and worship, with over 200 guests in attendance.
potpourri
The programme delivered as promised - the patrons were treated to a potpourri of activities ranging from a spirited praise and worship session, led by Kingdom Embassy, to the kind expressions of commendations, congratulations and encouragement from a complement of well-wishers locally and from the diaspora, to the couple to go forth and impact lives through a kingdom encounter. Whether it was the fluent reading of excerpts from the book by Verica Bennett, sister of the author, or the invigorating delivery by the guest speaker, Lady Bishop Marilyn Smith - USA, or the miming performance by daughter of the hosts, Roejan Allen and friends, each segment was seasoned with worship without losing the dynamics of the moment or the formality of the setting! Thanks to the masterful coordination of the programme chairman, Pastor Courtney Golding. The guests were constantly being served a platter of blessing item after item, in an all-inclusive package to include the melodious singing of Dawn Martin and Dwayne King and the invocation led by Bishop Dafton James from Miramar in United States of America.
You got it! All this was accompanied by a scrumptious three-course meal, much to the delight of the patrons. Inasmuch as a hearty serving of carrot cake for dessert was pleasing to the appetite, the real icing on the evening's proceedings was the declaration that was pronounced by the trio: hosts Munroe and Janet along with prophet Hanrick Hunt.
As if not to be outdone, the evening was graced with fine couture representing a cross-fertilisation of era and style which altogether penned an 'awe-inspiring' story of excellence!
