The dynamic father-and-son team of Gary and Kyle Gregg have joined an elite group of circuit racers, who have faced the starter together as a family at the Dover Raceway, St Ann.
Between both, they won at least five races at the Easter Monday 'Carnival of Speed' race meet.
The 22-year-old Kyle led the way with a hat-trick of wins, two in the Modified Production Two Class and the third came in the Thundersport One event.
The younger Gregg has demonstrated that he has the potential to be the king of the track in the near future.
His father, Gary, who is a veteran racer and known for his success in local and regional rally events, virtually 'had a piece of the cake' too, taking the chequered flag twice in the MP One Class.
The Kingston-based businessman also completed the quinella with his son in the Thundersport One event.
"It is a great feeling when you and your son can parade around the track, holding the chequered flag aloft. This is something that not many fathers have achieved," boasted Gregg (Gary).
He described their winning partnership as a dream come true. The elder Gregg explained that, when his son was born on March 23, 1989, that weekend, the first Dover race meet was held.
"I competed at Dover that weekend. Today, 22 years later, my son is competing here (Dover) with me. Right now we are without a sponsor and, if that is addressed, then we will be more a force to reckon with," said Gregg.
The Greggs have now joined the ranks of David Summerbell Sr (now deceased) and his son David Summerbell Jr, who is currently the Caribbean Motor Racing Champion Driver. There are also Mike Causewell and his son Heath.
Neil Gore and his sons, Doug and Matthew, have also made a significant impact at Dover.
"After I retired and opted to play golf, my son (Doug) bought me an Evo (Evolution) and influenced me to return to the track. I did, and it has been fun and excitement since," said Gore.
