Differences between UK and US sizing
I'm confused about what is the difference between United Kingdom and United States sizes. I am never sure which ones I should follow? Is one better than the other?
Thanks
N.D
Dear N.D,
In general, many US bra manufacturers only make bras to a certain cup size. The cup sizes are pretty much the same until you get to DD. Then it gets a little tricky. UK manufacturers and some US manufacturers make cup sizes up to NN, so how can you be sure?
Well, they have made it easy for you. If you're above a DD cup, then its best to follow UK cup sizes, as many bra stores that carry that size are usually from UK manufacturers such as Panache or the Eveden Group who produce (Freya, Fantasie, Goddess & Elomi) bras.
Once you've found your official UK size, the rest is easy. Most bras now come with the US or UK conversion right on the tag, so you can always be sure of what bra size to purchase. In addition, every bra size is simply an extension of the D cup, illustrated in the table below. We call it the language of the Ds. While you may find the table extremely useful, please remember that coverage will differ by brand and style. And at all times the combination of cup and frame size should be considered for the perfect fit.
