Minister Azan makes donation to CMI

Richard Azan, minister of state in the Ministry of Transport, Works and Housing, showed his support to the Caribbean Maritime Institute (CMI) with a donation of 12 single-bed mattresses. The presentation was made on Tuesday, June 26, at the institute, a day after the school observed the International Day of the Seafarer.

The donation is a well-received gift as the institute provides housing for cadets (future seafarers) in their final year of study (Phase III). In order to facilitate this, it is necessary for the residential cabins to be equipped with essential furniture.

Dr Fritz Pinnock, executive director at CMI, in his response to the minister's display of philanthropy, highlighted the gesture as evidence of Minister Azan's commitment and unwavering support to the institute and the nation's future leaders in the shipping and related industries.
