Magician, drummer, comedians for Comedytainment
The next staging of the highly anticipated Comedytainment promises to be magically entertaining. Redbones Blues Café hosts the bi-monthly comedy and entertainment series, conceptualised to showcase the top talents on the island from all the art forms.
Taking the spotlight on Thursday, April 25 will be LeWayne Turner the Magician and the ever fresh and entertaining Bongo Herman, complementing the comedic talents of the hilarious Granny, Pretty Boy Floyd and Owen 'Blakka' Ellis.
"We have a very good mix of talented artistes for our next show, so the entertainment value will be as high as our other shows in December and February," said Nicole Brown of Imagine Dat Entertainment Agents, the show's producers.
Owen 'Blakka' Ellis, who is widely regarded as one of the top comedians in the Caribbean and has done much in advancing the genre of stand-up comedy in Jamaica, will be in the island especially for this performance. Master drummer and percussionist Bongo Herman promises to serve up his musical treat that always leaves audiences in awe.
The producers are also introducing a new segment for budding comedians with their 'open mic', so persons wishing to explore their hidden talent will be welcomed to try out. Brown adds that "it is important for us to grow the industry, so we are happy to provide that outlet to someone who thinks they've always wanted to do this".
Imagine Dat Entertainment Agents, incorporated in 2009, are booking agents and talent buyers representing a wide range of top Jamaican talents, including reggae singers Alaine, Ikaya, Omi, Jakoostik and comedians Christopher 'Johnny' Daley, Elva and Pretty Boy Floyd, among others.
