The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) says it’s now safe to swim and fish at the Greenwich Farm fishing beach following an acid spill on Friday.
The director general of the ODPEM Ronald Jackson says normal activities may also be carried out at Berth One at Port Bustamante in the Kingston Harbour.
He says a team from the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) is still monitoring the situation.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jackson says he expects to receive a report on the cause of the spill by tomorrow.
A preliminary probe had identified the source as a container located at Berth One at Port Bustamante in the Kingston Harbour.
