Transport and Works Minister,, Mike Henry said the environmental conditions in Ocho Rios, St. Ann will be significantly improved by the end of the week.

Dust is now affecting the people of the town, following last week’s massive landsides, which sent mud and other debris on the streets.

Mr. Henry said workmen contracted by the National Works Agency (NWA) would be working overtime to remove the debris from the streets and verges.

He is asking for the help from the business sector to speed up the process.

He toured sections of Ocho Rios yesterday evening to assess the progress of the clean-up work.

The Member of Parliament for North East St. Ann, Shahine Robinson who is spearheading the process said only one blocked drain remains to be cleaned.

She said the focus would now be turned on cleaning the major drains on the outskirts of Ocho Rios.
