Twenty-four-year-old Dave King, otherwise called ‘Dada,’ ‘Breadback’ and ‘Mikiel Ramsey’, has been charged with the murder of 25-year-old Kevin Duhaney following an incident at Hill Avenue, Kingston 11, on August 5.

King, who is a labourer of Grape Road, Kingston 11, and St Ann’s Bay addresses, was also charged with wounding with intent, possession of prohibited weapon, possession of prohibited ammunition, using a firearm to commit a felony, conspiracy to murder, and conspiracy to wounding with intent.

The Olympic Gardens police say about 12:20 a.m., Duhaney and a man were standing at their gate when a brown Nissan Latio motor car drove up and stopped.

They alleged that King and another man exited the vehicle and opened gunfire, hitting both men.

The men reportedly ran inside their premises to escape further injuries, however, Duhaney collapsed. When the shooting subsided, both victims were found suffering from gunshot wounds and were taken to the hospital, where Duhaney was pronounced dead.

The other man was treated and admitted.

The incident was reported to the police and an investigation launched.

Further investigation carried out by the lawmen revealed that on September 11, King was shot and injured by gunmen in St Ann and was admitted to the hospital under the name Mikiel Ramsey.

He was later located, identified and charged based on eyewitness statements.

His court date is being finalised.
