Agriculture Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton called upon farmers to get registered with the Rural Agricultural Development Authority, RADA, to ensure proper marketing of their produce.
Several farmers in St. Elizabeth have complained that they have had to be feeding vegetables such as broccoli and cauliflower to pigs because they cannot find markets for the produce.
They say many of the hotels have been buying imported vegetables rather than use those produced locally.
The farmers say it costs approximately $100,000 monthly to grow the vegetables which are now being fed to pigs.
