Labour and Social Security Minister, Pearnel Charles, denied recent media reports that his Ministry has stopped issuing hurricane relief cheques.
Mr. Charles said that beneficiaries of the fund would now receive cheques after their homes were assessed.
Individuals will now be required to collect the relief cheques at the Ministry of Labour office in each Parish, instead of the post offices.
The Minister also reported that residents of Everald Warmington’s, South West St. Catherine constituency whose houses were damaged would receive new houses.
Residents in Portland Cottage, Clarendon, and Duhaney Pen, St. Thomas also receive houses.
