Former politician David Coore dies

Former Deputy Prime Minister of Jamaica David Coore has died.



He died early this morning at his home in Dominican Republic.



He has been living in the Spanish-speaking country for more than a year.



It is understood that 86-year-old Coore, died after a brief illness.



Coore entered public life in 1959 when he became a Member of the Legislative Council.



He has served in various capacities throughout his political life. His experience spans decades of Jamaica’s efforts at development since independence.



He is survived by his wife Maria and three children.
