Sentencing of parents in suitcase baby case postponed again

The sentencing of the parents of the infant boy whose decomposing body was found in a suitcase has again been put off.

When the couple appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday, the lawyer in the case said he needed more time to review a social enquiry report on the couple.

The sentencing was pushed back to next Thursday.

Alphonso and Stephanie Warren have pleaded guilty to the charges of concealment of death and failure to bury the body of a child.

They were arrested in January following the discovery of the corpse of their two-year-old son in a suitcase at their home.

The post mortem report indicated that he died more than two months before being discovered.
