May 22, 1974:



A $4-million development of resort beach cottages in Negril and Hellshire for Jamaican workers and their families is announced by Prime Minister Michael Manley, at a press conference, on the eve of Labour Day.




Manley said that each year government sought to make an announcement of major significance to the workers and trade union movement on the eve of Labour Day.
