DPP to order report on investigators in Kartel’s case
The Director of Public Prosecutions Paula Llewellyn says she will ask lead prosecutor in the Vybz Kartel case Jeremy Taylor to prepare a report outlining his concerns about the conduct of the police investigations in the case.
Llewellyn’s comments shortly after Kartel and three of his co-accused were convicted for the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams, came in response to questions about some of the evidence that emerged in the highly-publicised trial.
The court heard evidence that a phone taken from the entertainer was used to send messages three hours after it was in the custody of the police.
Llewellyn says any concerns raised in Taylor’s report will be passed to Police Commissioner Owen Ellington to ensure that corrective measures are put in place.
