Business executive Patrick Hylton is new PSOJ president

Patrick Hylton, a former president and CEO of National Commercial Bank (NCB) Financial Group, has been appointed president of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ).
He succeeds Metry Seaga, who led the organisation for three years.
The PSOJ is a major representative body for private businesses, companies, and individuals,
The PSOJ also announced its vice-presidential team of Joanna Banks of Sagicor Group Jamaica, Mathew Lyn of Caribbean Broilers Group, and Mariame McIntosh Robinson, an individual member.
They join continuing vice presidents Gail Moss-Solomon of GraceKennedy Limited and Hugh Grant of Jamaica Public Service.
Hylton, a former president of the Jamaica Bankers Association, currently chairs WIP (West Indies Petroleum) Energy and sits on the board of Massy Group.
The PSOJ said Hylton brings to the presidency more than three decades of experience in banking and finance, having most recently served at the NCB Financial Group, which he left in 2023.
"Under his leadership, the group became the largest and most profitable financial group. Under his leadership, the group became the largest and most profitable financial institution in Jamaica and the most profitable stand-alone financial group in the English-speaking Caribbean," PSOJ said in a statement on Tuesday. "His career has been defined by a commitment to excellence, innovation, and disciplined execution, with a reputation for balanced, customer-centric leadership."
The PSOJ also noted that Hylton was appointed by the Government of Jamaica to a leading role in restructuring the financial sector in the mid-1990s, work that earned him the Order of Distinction (Commander Class) in 2002. In 2020, he received the Order of Jamaica for his contributions to the financial sector and philanthropy.
Hylton has also served in numerous governance and advisory roles, including chairman of National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited, NCB Capital Markets Limited, Glenmuir High School, the Mona School of Business & Management, Guardian Holdings Limited (Trinidad & Tobago), and Clarien Bank Limited (Bermuda).
An honours graduate in Business Administration, Hylton is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (London), a recipient of the Jamaica Institute of Management Manager of the Year Award (2016), and an Honorary Doctor of Laws (LLD) from The University of the West Indies, Mona (2019).
