Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Caretaker for North West, St. Catherine, Dr. Sandra Nesbeth is expected to turn herself in to the Linstead police today.

Last Friday, Resident Magistrate Marcia Dunbar-Green ordered that a warrant be issued for the arrest of Dr. Nesbeth.

The warrant was issued after the politician failed to attend court to answer to the charges of tampering with a crime scene, assault at common law, obstruction and assaulting the police.

According to the police they have not been able to find her since.

Yesterday, the Linstead Police reported that they have received word from Dr. Nesbeth’s lawyer that she will report to the station today.

The charges relate to an incident on November 17 last year, in which gunmen allegedly shot and killed Durrant McBean in Linstead, St. Catherine and injured another man.

Dr. Nesbeth allegedly went to the scene and picked up spent shells, which were forcibly taken from her by the police, after she reportedly refused to cooperate with them.
