St Ann councillors move to cut losses in parish

The St. Ann Parish Council is moving to cut the losses it has incrred from the operation of some public facilities in the parish.



Officials from the Council are will tour all the commercial entities operated by the council as part of the move, today.



The Council said it has been losing revenue at these entities and their operations need to be reviewed.



Ocho Rios, St. Ann’s Bay and Brown’s Town markets and transportation centres are to be included in the tour.



According to chairman of the commercial services committee, Ian Bell, the Ocho Rios Transport Centre is among the entities, which is losing millions of dollars in revenues.



He said a decision would be made on the future of the entities following the tour.
