Woman freed of murder charges
The Home Circuit court has freed the helper of Gas Station operator L.G. Brown who was charged with his murder and the death of his fiancée Sandra Campbell.
The helper, Sandra Watt was charged along with two men, Donald Whyte, and 39 year old Peter Dougal, of Santoy District in Hanover.
The men were convicted of the murders in July last year.
Ms. Watt’s attorney wrote to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) asking that she be freed because there was no evidence to link her to the murder.
The crown claimed that Watt had allowed the men into the house to kill Mr. Brown and his fiancée.
Mr. Brown and Ms. Campbell were shot dead at her Stillwell Road residence in Stony Hill, St. Andrew on June 6, 2004.
The police theorised that it was a contract killing.
