Inner communities to benefit from family support programme
Inner city communities are shortly to benefit from a family support services programme aimed at improving access to social services in 12 communities across the island.
The programme will provide more than 1,200 residents of inner city communities with birth certificates, Taxpayer Registration Numbers (TRN) and other civil registration documents at subsidised costs.
The residents are also to benefit from improved access to basic services such as water, road and waste management.
The programme will be implemented within the next four years in Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine, Clarendon and St. James.
The Jamaica Social Investment Fund (JSIF), the Inland Revenue Department and the Registrar General’s Department are implementing the programme.
