Police Constable Collis 'Chucky' Brown has admitted to being a part of the special police team that allegedly carried out the killing of Robert 'Gutty' Dawkins in Clarendon in 2009.

Brown made the admission during an August 10, 2013 interview with the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM), the recording of which was played to the jury this morning at the murder trial in the Home Circuit Court.

Dawkins was fatally shot along the Palmer's Cross main road on January 10, 2009.

In the recording of the interview, INDECOM Assistant Commissioner Hamish Campbell asked Brown, "Did you shoot him yourself, did you fire the gun?"

"No. No. But I was there as a part of that team," Brown responded during the interview.

Campbell then asked, "Who fired the gun?"

Brown named a Constable L and two other cops who were present.

Brown was also asked if the same white Toyota Probox motor car was used during the shooting of Gutty.

He said, "A think, a think that vehicle was used, but it was a different plate. A don't remember the license plate number cah we normally change the registration number."

Yesterday, the jury listened to the first interview that INDECOM conducted with Brown at a hotel in Mandeville on August 6, 2013.

In that interview, among other things, Brown indicated that the special police squad was supplied with a white Probox motor vehicle, M16 rifles and the names of targets.

Brown is on trial for Dawkins' murder as well as the December 13, 2012 murders of Dwayne Douglas and Andrew Fearon along the Swansea main road in the parish.

He is also facing one count of wounding with intent and one count of conspiracy to commit murder.
