Jamaica selected for 2016 Huawei global roadshow
Huawei, a leading global information and communications (ICT) provider, has announced that its ICT Innovation Exhibition 2016 will come to Jamaica for the first time.
The roadshow will hit The Jamaica Pegasus hotel on Tuesday and will run until Thursday.
More than 20 live demonstration exhibits showcasing ICT solutions for various sectors will be presented at the Huawei 'Better Connected' ICT Innovation Exhibition.
The ICT Innovation Exhibition is part of Huawei's global roadshow, having been hosted in many countries around the world, including in Australia, Egypt, Malaysia, Colombia, Panama, and Trinidad and Tobago.
The three-day event, now being brought to Jamaica, will entertain hundreds of customers in the ICT and telecommunications sector, government, as well as other guests with leadership talks, presentations and displays.
During the exhibition, visitors will have access to Huawei's leading products and solutions to vertical industries and advanced technologies, including 4.5G, FMC 2.0, and Cloud Transformation.
"The Jamaican market is very progressive in its ICT development and ambitions, so it was the natural choice for our company to select this country to host our ICT Innovation Exhibition for 2016," said Allen Chenyue, general manager of Huawei Jamaica's office.
"ICT is driving tremendous advancement of our society. According to recent statistics, digital infrastructure, represented by the broadband Internet, has surpassed highway infrastructure in terms of economic importance, contributing a large percentage to global economic output. ICT is playing a more and more crucial role in helping nations worldwide develop their economies and enhance their overall national competitiveness.
"The theme of our roadshow is 'Open ROADS for a Better Connected World' because Huawei strongly believes that we must provide ubiquitous broadband connectivity, enable agile innovations everywhere and bring a superior technology experience to everyone at an affordable price," added Chenyue.
