Man of unsound mind knocks cop unconscious in Trelawny

A man said to be of unsound mind this morning left a policeman unconscious of knocking him in the back of the head.

The incident happened in the Clark's Town community of Trelawny around 9 o'clock.

It's reported that the police were called to the scene after the man snatched a child from his mother against a court ruling.

On seeing the police the man released the child and attacked one of the policemen with a stone.

The attacker was subsequently shot by a another policeman.

Both men were taken to hospital where the accused remains while the policeman was treated and released.
