Ye looking forward to being close to his kids

Kanye West wants to have his children "over as much as possible" after moving across the street from Kim Kardashian West.

The 44-year-old rapper – who has spent US$4.5 million on the property in Hidden Hills, California – is going through a divorce with the reality star, but he has moved nearby to make sure he's close to his family.

An insider told PEOPLE magazine: "Kanye's new house is a teardown. He only bought it for the location. It's near Kim and the kids. He has a vision for the house and plans on starting construction ASAP. It will be family-friendly. He wants to be able to have the kids over as much as possible. Living only in Malibu was making visits more tricky for Kanye."

The star – who has kids North, eight; Saint, six; Chicago, three, and son Psalm, two, with Kim – is said to have "jumped at the idea" of buying the property.

Another source added: "When he realised he could buy the house and be near his family, he jumped at the idea. He wants to be close by and be there for the kids."

Kim, 41, and Kanye previously agreed to seek joint legal custody of the kids in their divorce, with a source explaining: "[Kim] wants Kanye to be a big part of the kids' lives. [He] will be invited to all holidays and family celebrations."

Earlier this month, Kim filed legal documents asking to be declared legally single as she and Kanye have finished dividing up their assets.

She stated: "Irreconcilable differences have existed and continue to exist between [West] and me, which have caused our marriage to irretrievably break down. No counselling or reconciliation effort will be of any value at this time. There will be no prejudice to [West] if our marriage is immediately dissolved, especially given the fact that throughout our marriage, we adhered to the terms of our premarital agreement and maintained the separate property character of our assets."

Madonna calls out Tory Lanez for 'illegal usage' of song

Madonna has accused Tory Lanez of ripping off her 1985 hit Into The Groove.

The Queen of Pop is unhappy with the 29-year-old rapper's "illegal" interpolation of her track, seemingly referring to the latter's recent song Pluto's Last Comet from his LP Alone at Prom.

The 63-year-old music legend commented on Lanez's recent Instagram post: "Read your messages [f]or illegal usage of my song get into the groove!" suggesting she has contacted him directly on the social media app.

At the time of writing, it's not known if the Like a Virgin hitmaker will be making a formal complaint.

Lanez has been in hot water of late.

Last month, the Canadian record producer was told he wouldn't be offered a plea deal in a felony case for allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

The Say It rapper was accused by the WAP hitmaker of shooting her in the foot after a party at Kylie Jenner's house in July 2020.

The music star – whose real name is Daystar Peterson – has been charged with felony assault.

He is facing two felony charges of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, as well as the charge of having "personally inflicted great bodily injury".

If he is convicted on all charges, he could spend more than 22 years in jail.

Lanez is due to return to court next month.

The Broke in a Minute hitmaker previously pleaded not guilty to the charges last November. His lawyer, Shawn Holley, previously insisted "meaningful discussions" with prosecutors about a plea deal hadn't affected that.

She said: "As in every case, the lawyers for the parties discuss the possibility of resolving the case. This case is no different. That said, our position as to what did and did not happen in this matter remains unchanged, and Mr Peterson's plea of not guilty stands."

In January, Lanez's team filed a motion asking for an amendment to a protective order surrounding the case because he wasn't allowed to speak publicly about the dispute, but a judge ruled that the order must stay in place as it is.

During a hearing at the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles, his lawyer argued the protective order was "unfair" because it doesn't apply to Megan.

Britney Spears proud of past achievements

Britney Spears says focusing on her "accomplishments" helped her move on from the "hurt" caused by her family.

The 40-year-old singer – whose conservatorship was dissolved after 13 years last month – has opened up on her struggles over the years and explained her reasons for listing her proudest moments last week.

In a lengthy post on Instagram, she wrote: "Honestly, my family embarrassed me and hurt me deeply ... so tooting my own horn and seeing my past accomplishments reflecting back at me actually helped! To the outside world, it must seem like I'm extremely insecure, and if people really knew what I went through, I think they would understand completely where I'm coming from! It's a shame though that people don't like the truth! I'd get more respect doing a spread for Playboy than I would writing a book! As much as I've been offended ... which one would you do?" she posted.

The Baby One More Time hitmaker admitted she lost her faith three years ago, and felt hurt "from every angle".

She said: "I have issues ... I'm not perfect, so I have to remind myself daily to look up and know I'm not alone. I had an experience three years ago where I stopped believing in God! From every angle, I was being hurt for no reason, and my family was hurting me."

She explained her goal for 2022 is to "push" herself and "do things that scare" her after rediscovering her faith and focusing on prayer.

She continued: "Last year was growth for me ... I still have a ways to go! My goal this year is to push myself a bit more and do things that scare me but not too much, I mean, geez!

"We are just people, and I'm not superwoman, but I do know what makes me happy and brings me joy, and I try to meditate on those places and thoughts that enable me to experience it!"
