‘Bombshell Weekend’, an eight-episode digital reality series featuring 20 Jamaican content creators, premiered at Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records in Marketplace, St Andrew, last Thursday. Created and executive produced by Petegay Gentles, the series follows contestants through challenges, secret missions and unscripted encounters.
Drawing on her background in marketing and content creation, Gentles developed the concept to put creators at the centre of the entertainment. “With ‘Bombshell Weekend’, I wanted to flip that relationship and ask: what happens when the creators themselves are the product?” she said.
New episodes air on YouTube every Thursday at 8 p.m. Viewers can vote for contestants through paid weekly polls, with the winner receiving a cash prize. A portion of the proceeds will go to charity. Something Extra has the social highlights.
