Wanted man killed by police in St Thomas

A St Andrew man who was wanted by the police was fatally shot this morning in St Thomas.

The deceased is Orville ‘Marvin’ Dennie, of an Airy Castle, Stony Hill address.

The police say during the incident, which took place about 1 a.m. Tuesday in Port Morant, in the vicinity of Fish Cove, an illegal firearm was seized.

Dennie was featured on the police's Wanted Wednesday social media campaign.

He was wanted for murder and was also a person of interest in relation to several other crimes committed in the Airy Castle community in Stony Hill.

Dennie is the 38th person to be killed by members of the security forces since the start of the year and the tenth since the month of February.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has commenced a probe.
