AT THE just concluded EXPO Jamaica 2025, held inside the Nation Arena and the National Indoor Sport Centre in St Andrew, there were many booths displaying and selling skin- and hair-care products made of nature ingredients and scents. There were (oils essential or otherwise), washes, soaps, lotions, creams, butters, etc.

De la Enzie Essentials Ltd was one of the many businesses dealing in the above-mentioned products. They had a variety of herbs, soaps, natural butters, fixed oils, pain-relieving products and essential oils.

And, though they create their own products, they sell ingredients to other producers, and offer a certificate in the making of natural skincare products, creating the possibility for other entrepreneurs to set up businesses in the industry, thus creating jobs.

“De la Enzie Essentials Limited is a natural products manufacturing company … We also provide product formulation, consultation, white labelling and product-making social and entrepreneurial workshops services,” De la Enzie says.

In the workshops, participants will “learn from expert, Dr Chenielle Delahaye how to make your own natural products to start your own business or take care of yourself and your family”. In them, participants will learn how to produce bar soaps, body butters, candles, creams, essential oils, oil blends, oil extraction and pure butters. Dr Delahaye is the founder and CEO of the business.

And for two consecutive days in April, May, June and July, De la Enzie Essentials will be hosting a series of natural product workshops. The classes will be held face-to-face or virtually.

On April 17 and 18 the focus will be on handmade soap-making. The cream and lotion-making workshop is on May 19 and 20, while June 22 and 23 are the days for scented candle-making. On July 10 and 11 participants will learn the art and science of herbal extraction.

On Saturday, the 5th, at the expo, the company was represented by Samantha Douglas, general manager: Jevona Delahaye, operations and product manager: Brittania Mitchell, sales representative; and Justeen Brown, customer service manager.
