Westmoreland man charged with arson

Andre Taylor, otherwise called ‘Lippy’, of Seaton Crescent in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, has been charged with arson by the police in connection with a house fire in the community.
According to police reports, around 1:15 p.m. on July 25, Taylor was seen running from a house that was engulfed in flames.
The police and the fire department were alerted.
Following cooling-down operations, the damage from the fire was estimated at $6 million.
Taylor was later taken into custody during a targeted operation at his home, based on an eyewitness statement.
He was subsequently charged on Monday, July 28, with the offence.
His court date is being finalised.
