Lloydricia Cameron falls short in women’s shot put
Lloydricia Cameron, Jamaica’s lone entrant in the women’s shot put at the Tokyo World Athletics Championships, fell short in her bid to advance to the final, recording a best effort of 17.77 metres.
Competing in Group A, Cameron finished eighth in her group and 16th overall, falling outside the top 12 needed to advance.
She opened her series with a throw of 17.22 metres, before improving on her second attempt with 17.69.
On her final throw, she once again improved, launching the shot to 17.77 metres.
This marks Cameron’s second time competing for Jamaica at the World Championships, having made her debut in Oregon in 2022.
