16-y-o boy in Bahamas charged for mass shooting
NASSAU, Bahamas, CMC – A 16-year-old boy in the Bahamas was charged on Monday with the deaths of two men and injury to five other people during a mass shooting in August.
The teenager appeared before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley on two counts of murder and five counts of attempted murder following the August 9 shooting in New Providence.
The incident resulted in the deaths of Eden Louis and Markentash Saintil and injuries to Hayden Breus, Trish Louis, Widny Saintil, Karib Rodgers and Gregory Jean-Charles.
Police said that the victims were outside a home when two gunmen emerged from a vehicle and shot them.
The accused was not required to enter pleas to the charges and was remanded.
He will return to court on December 10 for the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment.
